A “bridge maintenance fees” is now being charged for all vehicles crossing the Bridge which forms the border between Victoria Falls and Livingstone.

The fee has been calculated at US$ 2.50 per person for tourist transfers, and will now be added to quotes/ accounts.

As of 01 January 2018 Wild Horizons will cease to offer elephant-back safaris, replacing this activity with a conservation experience, at the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary.   

Work will continue with the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust and numerous other conservation bodies to provide a refuge for elephants in distress. The rehabilitation and release work will also continuem as the mission has always been to create a facility which would enable the rehabilitation and ultimate release all the elephants at the Sanctuary.
 
An “Elephant Encounter” will be offered from January 2018, which focusses on a conservation experience, offering visitors the opportunity to spend time walking through the bush with the elephants, observing them up close in the wild and getting to know their individual characters whilst learning more about the importance of elephant conservation from the guides who have journeyed with them through their lives and gained a unique insight along the way.

SA Airlink has commenced their flights on the new Cape Town-Victoria Falls route.

Flights departs Cape Town International at 08h30 and arrive at Victoria Falls International at 11h15.

The return flight departs Victoria Falls at 11h45 and arrives in Cape Town at 14h40.

At present the flights operate Monday to Friday and on Sundays. 

​Effective 01 August 2017 the Government Fee increases from US$ 12 to US$ 15 per person, per flight. Any bookings which have already been made and paid for will be honoured at the existing rate.

Kenya Airways is due to start a direct flight between Nairobi and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe on 18th May, 2017. The new route between Nairobi and Victoria Falls will operate three times a week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The Victoria Falls operation will also be linked to Cape Town, South Africa.

This will see the airline increase its flights to Cape Town, as it also offers 4 weekly via Livingstone.

The flight will depart Nairobi at 7.20am, and arrive Victoria Falls at 9.30am. It then departs Victoria Falls 10.20am to arrive in Cape Town at 1.25pm.

The return flight will leave Cape Town at 2.15pm, arriving Victoria Falls at 5.10pm. It then departs Victoria Falls at 6pm and arrives in Nairobi 10pm.

Kenya Airways will thus be the only carrier offering direct services between Victoria Falls and Cape Town. This offering will see guests enjoying Victoria Falls from the Zambia side via Livingstone and Zimbabwe side via Victoria Falls. The route is to be operates by Embraer E190 aircraft with a configuration of 12 business class seats and 84 economy class seats.
